WE STAND FOR THE WORLD UNITED IN DIVERSITY

“Unity in diversity is the highest possible attainment of a civilization, a testimony to the most noble possibilities of the human race” – Michael Novak (1983)

MISSION STATEMENT

Unity in Diversity Arts Foundation creates cultural and educational programs across a variety of artistic disciplines, including visual arts, music, literature, photography, cinema, and theater. We collaborate with numerous ethnic and cultural organizations both in the United States and globally to provide enriching opportunities for the younger generation.

Founded in 2004, this nonprofit organization was established by a group of artists and professionals from the Russian community in Los Angeles. Its mission was to support musical and theater groups, art studios, painters, photographers, and musicians from the former Soviet Union, helping them unite and achieve their full creative potential in the United States.

Our mission and goals depend on a strong financial foundation, which we aim to build through membership fees, donations from sponsors, grants from various foundations, and revenue from our own activities. These funds will be used to organize exhibitions, auctions, festivals, concerts, creative competitions, poetry readings, musical evenings, theater productions, and the publication of books, among other initiatives.

The Unity in Diversity Arts Foundation is committed to nurturing the creative potential of its members by providing grants, stipends, and opportunities for art tours, as well as by publishing the most outstanding works of our artists. We also seek to enrich the Los Angeles community and surrounding areas by making art and cultural education accessible and affordable to those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience world-class art.

Unity in Diversity Arts Foundation has organized and produced numerous events over the years, but the International Arts Competition for Young Performers “Colibri” has become a community favorite and a defining symbol of the Foundation’s mission today.
